SUMMARY: Organize and lead machining areas, including set up, operation, and maintenance of all good machining practices for the CNC machines. Directly supervise machining team employees in the machining department in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, while addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, directing work and operating CNC equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate equipment and overall cell in a safe and productive manner, while ensuring quality parts are produced, which meet or exceed quality standards set by the company. Maintain records including inventory, production, quality records and defective parts. Inform supervisor of potential problems with equipment or product. Perform job set-up and tool changes & programing changes as required. Assist in machine adjustments and repair. As a leader, must provide a fair and consistent work environment that promotes mutual respect, and must also perform duties of Machine Operator. Work within a team environment to be the lead for machining for product launch, engineering specification/blueprint interpretation, fixture concepting & process design. Work with planning to determine production schedules and most efficient utilization of resources within the process. Establish or improve process standards utilizing data collection and analysis

Supervises: Day shift machining group
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a four (4) year college
Four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CNC Machining Qualification
4 years minimum metal cutting experience in HMC & VMC CNC setup & production operation.
Excellent knowledge of blue print reading & GD&T required.
Prior experience with ISO Quality Systems, Safety/Environmental Certification.
Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language
Knowledge of all applicable safety and environmental regulations
Ability to work independently, to make decisions, and to keep team members updated on progress as required
Strong oral and written communication skills required, including training using multiple sources of media
MS Office® Suite proficiency
Problem solving and data analysis skills
Will work in machining department
Will have regular exposure to foundry environment including: dust, heat, fumes and noise
