SUMMARY: Responsible for directing the overall engineering and continuous improvement functions within the organization with the objective of providing technical solutions to customers and operations team, allowing the organization to meet quality, productivity, and safety, customer satisfaction, and culture objectives. Must assure adequate resources are available to deliver expected results, and represent the company with customers and employees


FLSA Exemption: Exempt


  • Responsible for developing, implementing, administering the company’s engineering processes and programs to achieve the goals for the organization
  • Support sales & business initiatives, direct the organization towards launching new products and ongoing support of the life cycle
  • Lead the planning, justification, design, selection, purchase, installation and implementation of industrial automation to improve safety, quality and productivity in our foundry processes
  • Direct engineering functions to ensure compliance with quality & environmental certifications
  • Create the technical vision for the organization and plan the implementation of new technical projects or processes
  • Capital project responsibility including implementing new processes, and customer applications along with plant and facilities-related project work
  • Utilize engineering capabilities to position ourselves within the marketplace as an industry leader and solution provider
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth; ability to develop skill levels in self and staff in conjunction with the long-term needs of the organization


QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience Expected:

  • BA/BS in Engineering field
  • 10+ years leading foundry engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in deploying foundry automation for improved safety, quality & productivity • Capital budget development and management
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering management
  • Proven innovative, conceptual and strategic thinker, who possesses fundamental business understanding, with the ability to integrate technology advances into our overall vision
  • Strong background in planning and project management skills
  • Proven ability to deliver major projects on time and budget


  • Foundry & metal casting engineering industry
  • MS in metallurgy or related field highly desired

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language
  • Must establish and maintain high levels of responsiveness and credibility with employees and customers
  • Must be able to drive excellent results while maintaining positive and effective relationships with peers and subordinates
  • Must be able to have strong meeting organization skills, and drive accountability through project teams
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop strong engineering talent

System Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Engineering software such as ProE, Project Management, Solidification modeling

Working Conditions:

  • Works in climate controlled office 60% of time. Will have regular exposure to foundry environment including: dust, heat, fumes and noise.
