SUMMARY: The Lead Machinist will be responsible for leading the day to day duties within the machining cell, while maintaining their own machining production goals as a working lead. This person will be the first point of contact for machinists in terms of set up, operation, and maintenance of all CNC machines. Responsibilities include training employees, and working with supervision to assign, and assist with the completion of work within the cell. This person will also be responsible for communicating issues and concerns to supervision, and addressing complaints and resolving problems when appropriate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate equipment and overall cell in a safe and productive manner, while ensuring quality parts are produced, which meet or exceed quality standards set by the company. Accurately complete records including inventory, production, quality records and defective parts. Inform management of potential problems with equipment or product. Perform job set-up and tool changes. Assist in machine adjustments and repair. As a leader, must provide a fair and consistent work environment that promotes mutual respect, and must also perform duties of Machine Operator. The Machining Lead must have a strong understanding of how to read blueprints.
