SUMMARY: The Plant Engineer provides direction for all activities related to the physical plant, and coordinates/orders capital expenditure items relating to equipment and facilities purchases and installation. Responsible for supervision of maintenance and repair of all buildings, vehicles, equipment and utilities. Aid all areas in maintaining and improving their physical work environment to include planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and directing. Assures that all equipment and facility installations and modifications follow engineering principles along with safety and environmental regulations. Supervision of plant maintenance and assurance of equipment reliability in support of operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with design, construction, installation, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in plant: Establishes standards and policies for installation, modification, operating procedures, inspection, and maintenance of equipment.
Supervises plant maintenance technicians for a 24-7 operation
Directs maintenance of plant building and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery.
Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition and coordinates the activities of outside contract services.
Supports new business development programs requiring additional equipment and/or expansion of plant capacity
Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications
Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the annual Capital Expenditure Program budget.
Oversee the maintenance of all company facilities and grounds; including: mowing, weeding, spraying, snow removal, and general clean-up of open areas, roadways, fence lines, parking area and display areas (including reduction of environmental impacts).
Oversee all new capital expenditures items including equipment and facilities purchases, and in-house construction and fabrication projects.
Utilize CAD/CAM programs to evaluate technical drawings and to generate plant layouts.
Provide technical support and personnel resources to support environmental improvement efforts.
Assist staff in performing their responsibilities by providing technical/facilities support.
Effectively perform any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary and appropriate

Supervises: Maintenance Personnel and Automation Technician
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education and/or Experience Expected:
BS degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience and success in leading plant maintenance
Demonstrated effective project management skills
Ability to utilize project planning software to manage and communicate project status
Plant automation and robotics experience is desired
CAD experience for plant layout and facilities planning work
Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language
Must establish and maintain high levels of responsiveness and credibility with employee
Must be able to drive excellent results while maintaining positive and effective relationships with peers and subordinates
Will have regular exposure to foundry environment including: dust, heat, fumes and noise.
