ATEK Metal TechnologiesSet Up Position

SUMMARY: Safely and efficiently supply molders with functional tools for production needs.  Includes but is not limited to breaking down packs, spraying, buffing, tool repair, tool installation, and removal of tool from machine.

Shifts Available: 2nd

WAGE TYPE: Hourly, non-exempt


  • Safely and correctly operate in all functions of the set up area
  • Perform work in accordance with specific job work instructions
  • Accurately identify any tooling or die defects to determine if useable
  • Accurately use all tools, gauges, and instruments
  • Ability to do all job functions as outlined in the Functional Job Analysis
  • Follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy
  • Ability to operate a mold machine and cover breaks as needed
  • Correctly fix any defects to ensure compliance with the standard
  • Safely operate fork truck


Reports to:

  • Set Up Supervisor  


Education and/or Experience Expected: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must Pass ATEK Set Up Training to become a Certified Set Up Operator
  • Must pass ATEK Functional Job Analysis and pre-employment physical and Drug Screen for Set Up position
  • Must be able to pass ATEK Fork Truck Driver Certification


  • Prior experience in manufacturing
  •  National Career Readiness Certificate Preferred

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language

Working Conditions:

  • Will have regular exposure to foundry environment including: dust, heat, fumes and noise
